YOUR TASKS

 

  • At least 50% of your assignment will be spent on academic research in preparation of a doctoral dissertation within the field of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. You will also complete the required doctoral program.
  • You will carry out high-quality scientific research and write a doctoral dissertation within a period of 4 to a maximum of 6 years on the basis of scientific articles that can be published in scientific journals.
  • You present interim research results both internally (e.q. research seminars) and externally (e.g. scientific conferences both at home and abroad).
  • You will assist in the teaching activities at the department within the domain of “Entrepreneurship”.
  • You will assist in the internal and external services of the department.
  • You will contribute to the valorization and accessibility of the research work of the Department of Marketing, Innovation and Organization.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

  • You hold a degree of Master in, preferably, but not limited to, the domains of Economics or Applied Economic Sciences, Business Economics, Business Engineering, Psychological Sciences, Communication Sciences, Sociology or an equivalent degree. The degree requirements need to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment.
  • For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted.
  • You are interested in academic research and services and have the intention to write a PhD dissertation in the field of innovation and/or entrepreneurship.
  • You find research into innovation and/or entrepreneurship extremely fascinating.
  • You are familiar with research methodology, have good analytical skills and are fluent with SPP, SAS and/or R.
  • You are intrinsically motivated to carry out your assignment, are critical, have (a lot of) attention to detail, can work independently and carefully, are open to feedback, are eager to learn, patient, can cooperate, are organized and take initiative easily.
  • You have good didactic and communicative skills, both oral and written and are willing to further develop these skills for your teaching assignment.
  • You have good knowledge of English (oral and written). Good knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
  • You are flexible with regards to your teaching and research assignment.
     

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

 

  • We offer you a two-year appointment, which may be renewed twice for two years, on condition that the previous term was given a positive evaluation. Attention: If you have been previously appointed as a junior assistant or doctoral fellow at a university within the Flemish Community, this appointment will be deducted from the maximum term of appointment, which is six years at the most according to the Codex of Higher Education.
  • Your appointment will start on 1 August 2024 at the earliest.
