YOUR TASKS

 

  • At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research.
  • You work with other researchers in SBO-project PICASSO, where the interaction between fluid mechanics and moving/deforming structures is coupled to control and image processing, using reduced models and machine learning. For this project you also prepare presentations and meetings, and take care of communication between partners and reporting.
  • You work with the colleagues in team Fluid Mechanics and support common activities in the team.
  • You assist in teaching activities at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level in the field of numerical simulation and fluid mechanics.
  • You counsel Bachelor, Master and Doctoral students in their exercises, internships and research in the field of numerical simulation and fluid mechanics.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

  • You hold a thesis-based doctorate preferably in Electromechanical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, Computational Engineering, Control, or an equivalent degree (obtained max. 6 years ago, this term of 6 years is determined by the date written on the above-mentioned required degree).
  • You are interested in scientific and/or project based research and services.
  • You are interested in coaching students in the Bachelor’s, Master’s and/or Advanced Master’s programmes.
  • You have good didactive and communicative skills.
  • You have already conducted research in the field of numerical modelling of flows and have research experience with CFD tools, structural mechanics and/or control.
  • You have published relevant scientific papers in (inter)national peer-reviewed academic journals that are widely disseminated.
  • Experience with teaching and participation in post-formation and conferences is recommended.
